Matthew MaierhoferI have sixteen years of professional experience in the field of Information and Communications Technology that includes wireless communications, networking, web development, and management of web and IT resources. I hold a Master Certificate in IS/IT Project Management from Villanova University, a BS in Information Systems from Penn State, and an AA in Business Administration from Harrisburg Area Community College. Over the past months my studies have been on the topics of Internet, Affiliate, and Social Media marketing, analytical tools and online performance based metrics, as well as traditional marketing and branding strategies. I have also been working with a variety of multimedia software tools utilized in the creation and delivery of online/off-line video, more specifically geared to delivery of online education.

 

Currently I am employed by the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as a Multimedia Administrator responsible for managing the college’s Sonic Foundry Enterprise webcasting and knowledge management platform. 

 

Prior to my current position, I served as a Web Manager for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture where I was responsible for directing, managing, and leading the OITS Web Group, a group established during my tenure. The group develops and manages department websites, internal and external, and twenty plus integrated web applications developed with Microsoft technologies. Web applications range from basic search functionality to online registration systems that accept electronic payments and custom content management systems. The group works closely with department executives, directors, and contractors to maximize opportunities for the department’s web-based presence and applications.

 

I also served in the United States Air Force honorably from 1994-1998 as an Electronic Communications Technician in the 54th Combat Communications Squadron, a division of the 5th Combat Communications Group (5th CCG). As an Electronic Communications Technician I was responsible for deploying and activating mobile and transportable communications systems, including a mobile air traffic control tower and various VHF, UHF single-channel AM transceivers, and High Frequency communications facilities. I was also responsible for performing preventive maintenance programs and repairs utilizing block diagram analysis, sweep and signal generators, modulation analyzers, watt meters, digital voltmeters, probes, and oscilloscopes. During this time I had the opportunity to perform a tour of duty at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudia Arabia in support of Operation Southern Watch.

 

Aside from my professional occupation, I am a certified Emergency First Responder with AED and a PADI certified Scuba Diver. I enjoy most water and boating related sports, I love to travel, particularly to the Caribbean, enjoy listening to a variety of music, photography and videography, Texas Hold’em poker, consulting, and entertaining.
